I lived in Coyotitan (NE of Mazatlan along 15 to San Ignacio), for a bit in summer 2004, taking day trips to Mazatlan, Ajoya, La Cruz, Duranguito, and other towns. My only problem was the heat; I couldn’t take it, and steadily got more and more dehydrated to a local doctor told me that if I didn’t leave, I would compromise kidney function. So, then I went to a town in the Sierra de Tapalpa (sic) south of Guadalajara at 7300 feet. Nice and cool. I’m back in the U.S. now, but I may end up in Jalisco again for grad school at UAG.
